This directory contains wavelet decompress image 
of grayscale "lena", 512x512x8.
The middle number of the file name means compression ratio with respect to
the original raw file size.
So, the file size of compressed lena.3_32.gif will be
	262144bytes / 3.32 ~= 78959byes.
The 19.4 : 1 file is using the default setting with a time on 
compress/decompress sustained at 1.96 sec on a SSP2.
The original is in file "lena.raw".
Since my hand crafted "raw2gif" convertor is done rapidly, some gif
viewer may complained. I am sorry.
The original is left here so that people can make side by side comparison.
and also MSE comparison.

If someone our there can make a timing of the lena.raw on some other JPEG
variance algorithm, please email me the results. 
Hopefully, this directory will start a USENET wide understand of the still 
image compression technology. Very much of the algorithms are too young
and really need people to improve on. Thank you very much.
