The AlgolRevived Font Package
--------------------------
AlgolRevived is a geometric serifed typeface reviving the Algol font designed by Adrian Frutiger in 1963 for typesetting the code portions of a manual on ALGOL. Two weights are provided: regular and medium, with both upright and slanted versions. Though the font is designed for typesetting code, it is not monospaced, and in my opinion, it doesnt look too bad if you have a fondness for text with a typewritten appearance with few typeset frills like f-ligatures, small caps and old-style figures.
The fonts are provided in OpenType and PostScript formats, are released under SIL's OFL, details of which are spelled out in the file OFL.txt accompanying the package.
The TeX font metrics, font definition files and other support files for AlgolRevived,
i.e., the other files in the archive algolrevived.zip, may be distributed and/or modified

this license or (at your option) any later version. The latest version of this
license is in http://www.latex-project.org/lppl.txt and version 1.3 or later is
part of all distributions of LaTeX version 2003/12/01 or later. All files in that archive are

Current version: 1.054 2024-05-26
Changes in version 1.054
Removed a spurious vf.
Changes in version 1.053
Removed background images in the Fontforge source files which were leading to large numbers of empty, unwanted glyphs.
Changes in version 1.052
Further modifications to the esszet glyphs in regular, medium and their slanted variants. The heights are now a bit less and they appear less bulky. Additional corrections made to some outlines to bring them into uniformity with other glyphs. (Thanks again to Martin Wilhelm Leidig for his suggestions.)
Changes in version 1.051
Modified the esszet glyph in regular and slanted styles, correcting the stem widths to match other lower-case letters. (Thanks to Martin Wilhelm Leidig for catching this error.)
Changes in version 1.05
1. Many new glyphs added, especially those in the TS1 encoding.
2. Added a nmber of new macros fo the sty file and modified some options. There is now a \textcircled and a \textfrac macro making \textfrac render the fraction two_thirds, and \textfrac[2]{7}{8} render two_and_seven_eighths making use of superior and inferior figures for the fraction part.
3. Removed the silly options to choose what regular and bold weights are. Thse are now set by the sty file.
4. Many revisions to the fd files.
Changes in version 1.041
Corrections to the fd files.
Changes in version 1.04
1. Added missing zalts1.enc so that textcomp works as expected.
2. Changed mb to sb in all fd files, so that medium weight is mapped to a valid NFSS code.
Changes in version 1.03
Changed \let\zal@typewriter\@empty to \global\let\zal@typewriter\@empty in all fd files to prevent later problems if the fd file is called from within a group. (Thanks to Frank Mittelbach.)
Changes in version 1.02
1. Documentation correction.
2. Corrected fd files. (Thanks to Frank Mittelbach for spotting the problem.)
Changes in version 1.01
1. Added overlooked typewriter support (.sty and .fd files) for LaTeX.
2. Small documentation changes.
It is a pleasure to record my gratitude to Chuck Bigelow who provided a detailed critique of an earlier version of these fonts, which was most helpful in refining the glyph shapes and spacing.
