These files make it possible to use Bistream Courier
as an alternative to Adobe Courier.
These files, with the exception of the files in the directory pfb, are
made available under the GPL, as explained in the file COPYING. The
files in the directory bcr are available under the XFree86 licence,
which is explained in the file bcr-t1-licence.txt
The lines delimited by braces are suggestions for where files should
go. At the end of this file is a minimal example of use.
*.tfm goes where TeX looks for tfms [ .../texmf/fonts/tfm/bcr/ ]
*.afm goes where TeX looks for afms [ .../texmf/fonts/afm/bcr/ ]
*.vf goes where TeX looks for vfs [ .../texmf/fonts/vf/bcr/ ]
*.pfb goes where TeX looks for Type 1 fonts
[ .../texmf/fonts/type1/bcr/ ]
*.fd goes where TeX looks for font definition files
[ .../texmf/tex/latex/bcr/ ]
bcr.map goes where dvips can find it and should be
referred to in dvips' global config.ps (*)
[ .../texmf/dvips/config/ ]
bcr.map also goes where pdftex can find it and should be
referred to in pdftex's gloal pdftex.cfg (*)
[ .../texmf/dvips/config/ ]
(*) alternatively edit the "updmap" script in [ .../texmf/dvips/config/ ]
Example:
\documentclass[11pt]{article}
\usepackage{times}
% Substitute Bitstream Courier for
% Adobe Courier:
\renewcommand{\ttdefault}{bcr}
\begin{document}
\texttt{test} test \textsf{test}
\end{document}
