Installation
************

  1. Copy the zip files and the two executables to a temporary
directory (say `c:\temp'). Change to that directory.

  2. Choose a name for the destination directory, say `c:\texmf'.

  3. If you are updating:

	a) You may want to save some files (notably dvips/config.ps
	   and miktex/config/miktex.environment) before proceeding
	   with step 4.

	b) It is strongly recommended that you remove the DC-font
source directory from the TeXMF tree, otherwise
on-the-fly generation of EC fonts may fail:

		del c:\texmf\fonts\sources\public\dc\*.*
		rmdir c:\texmf\fonts\sources\public\dc

  4. Run `install.exe'. When prompted for the destination directory,
enter the name chosen in step 2.

This is the transcript of a typical installation process:

      +------------------------------------------------------------------+

      | Installation is complete. Please append `c:\texmf\miktex\bin' to |
      | the environment variable `PATH' and reboot the system. |
      +------------------------------------------------------------------+

  5. Add the MiKTeX bin directory to the environment variable `PATH'.
Under Windows 95 you have to append something like

        set PATH=%PATH%;c:\texmf\miktex\bin

to your `autoexec.bat'. Under Windows NT you can use Control
Panel to change the value of `PATH'.

  6. Restart Windows.

Configuring dvips
-----------------

Make sure that the settings in config.ps match your printer.
