Sarah Sharp proposes doing a short presentation on how Linux kernel developers can get involved with mentoring women through the FLOSS Outreach Program for Women (OPW). OPW involves three-month internships, and during the last application process, 41 women applied for six internships. An additional internship was created, so that seven applicants were accepted. In 13 days, 374 patches were submitted, of which 137 were accepted, resulting in a net removal of almost 1,000 lines of code from the kernel. The average patch added 28 lines and removed 36.
A number of people indicated interest in hearing about OPW.
