This directory contains the contributed HP XLFD enhancements for the
R5 font server.  The contents:


README:  This file.

announcement:  A copy of the original announcement of the contribution.

hp_xlfd_demo.tar.Z:  Demonstration of the enhancements.  Two xwdfiles
  demonstrating the enhancements (rotation, obliquing, anamorphic
  scaling, mirroring), and the two X clients that generated the
  xwdfiles.  The clients use the utilities contained in the
  hp_xlfd_utils.tar.Z package.

hp_xlfd_utils.tar.Z:  Two utility functions to assist in using the HP
  XLFD enhancements.  One, ParseXLFD(), assists in parsing and
  constructing XLFD names that take advantage of the HP XLFD extensions.
  The other, XDrawRotatedString(), draws text at any arbitrary angle.

hp_xlfd_enhancements:  A description of the enhancements and how to use
  them.

hp_xlfd_patches.tar.Z:  Patches to implement the enhancements, as diffs
  against the current MIT R5 tree.  Patches can be applied to the
  consortium-member's version of the font server (current with
  fix-trackers as of 8/12/92) or to public-patch-16 with the
  Type1.patch.
